Basic Info
Name:K'vel
Bio
Description: Slightly below average in height, this young man is just under six feet tall. Though muscular, he doesn't show it - his is a more subtle build, on the slender side of athletic but with sturdiness and enough muscle on his arms and legs to show that he has plenty of strength. He carries himself with a quiet confidence, though certainly not threateningly, and those small green eyes of his are usually placid. His forehead is square, his jaw tapering into a round chin. His cheekbones are pronounced, as is his nose, it being quite long, rounded and protuberant. His lips are fairly wide, though thin, and a pale pink that suits his slightly tanned complexion well. He wears his dark brown hair short with sideburns, and likes to have a very short beard and moustache. He looks to be in his late teens.
Kynvelin wears a simple outfit consisting of a short-sleeved white top, somewhat dirty, with a sleeveless jacket over the top. His trousers are thick and durable, but with stains that just won't wash out. He wears boots with thickened areas above where his toes are.

History:
Off-camera:
The son of an assistant steward and assistant headwoman at High Reaches Weyr, Kynvelin is the older brother of Danika, who is presently a junior headwoman at Tillek Hold. He was always a quiet boy, keeping to himself and letting his sister’s antics distract attention away from him. While Danika was sent to Tillek, Kynvelin had already chosen to apprentice as a Smith when he was fourteen, and, with his parents’ encouragement (the boy being sensible enough to join such a Craft, in their eyes), he got on a wagon bound for Telgar. He was in the Craft for three Turns before he became involved in a fight between two other apprentices – not a violent person, he had stepped in to try and break up the fight. Unfortunately the Apprentice Master chose that moment to come across the boys and punished all three by expelling them from the Craft. Ashamed of himself and fearful of disappointing his family, Kyn decided to go to Telgar Weyr for a fresh start, offering his strength to be used for one of the more physical jobs at the Weyr. The Craft had informed his family about his expulsion before he had the chance to tell them himself, and so now they, and his father in particular, are disappointed with him. Needless to say, the boy feels a deep shame at disappointing his family, and hopes to improve himself in their eyes by making something of himself, though he isn’t sure how, yet.

On-Camera:
Upon his arrival at the Weyr, Kynvelin secured a position as a stablehand - he'd work his way up he thought, though that was not to say the work wasn't hard. It was tough, smelly, and involved a lot of learning, something that he was used to thanks to his stint at the Hall. He deigned not to include said time at the Hall in his past if anyone asked, and he's generally been secretive about the more personal aspects of his life. He became involved in a poker group thanks to a bronzerider called T'rev, and meets regularly with the rider's group to play - something he very much enjoys, even if he's still improving his game. Searched by none other than said rider's dragon, Mecaith, Kyn had a time of mixed emotions during candidacy - one he shared with his sister - coming to terms with who he was. At the end of it all, the eggs hatched and he Impressed green Amiyuth, becoming K'vel and opening a new chapter in his life.

K'vel is a fictional character at Telgar Weyr on PernMUSH, a role-playing game based on the works of Anne McCaffrey. This LiveJournal is used for posting logs of role-plays and vignettes involving K'vel.

The photos used to represent K'vel are of a model called David Sheath. The character's original name comes from Kynvelin (also known as Cinbelin), a Celt who lived around 540-570AD. He established himself in the territory of the Goddodin, having apparently inherited a major part of his father's army.
